Our programs usually focus on transformative or vertical development designed to develop the adaptive or complex thinking abilities needed for leaders to be successful in VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous) situations.
Programs are specifically designed to meet the needs of our clients and often incorporate organisational challenges, "Wicked Problems" or opportunities. Our programs go beyond delivery of traditional content. We interweave innovative tools and practices with peer learning and discovery. We can combine elements of synchronous (face to face workshops) and asynchronous (virtual elements complemented by an on-line learning management system) into our programs. The delivery also focuses on meeting the participants where they are at, connecting and leveraging existing knowledge and skills within the group. |
3 steps to delivering successful outcomes. |
1. Diagnose
We seek to understand your context, uncover what is currently working well and what might need to be enhanced. 2. Deliver
Design and deliver an intervention or program customised to your specific context that will have lasting impact. 3. Embed and Sustain
We want you and your people to be able to take responsibility for their ongoing development post program so we bake this in from the start. |
Uncharted Leadership recognises that as individuals progress along their development pathway, they often have unique needs. Our three service offerings seek to address these needs through providing purposeful, individual, developmental conversations. Our experience demonstrates that leadership conversations and executive coaching serve nuanced purposes and are underpinned by different but overlapping methodologies. Our approach is:
|
EXECUTIVE COACHING - We partner with you in a thought provoking and creative process that inspires individuals to maximise their personal and professional potential. Coaching supports you to to gain clarity and identify pathways through complex problems in order to take action and achieve.
DEVELOPMENTAL DIALOGUES - Enable mindset shifts and new world views which allow new situations to be embraced boldly. Together with a leadership consultant you can create, refine and share knowledge through deeper conversations. The shared insights that emerge are a source of growth. TEAM COACHING - Bring your teams diverse perspectives together, enable collaboration and navigate 'tricky' problems that are getting in the way of success. Dialogue is cultivated and in doing so shifts the quality of interactions in noticeable ways, which fosters collective accountability for sustained performance. |
In a Growth Culture there are deliberate efforts to build the conditions and practices of learning and development into an organisation’s daily operations.
Growth Culture is a collaborative process that develops the capacity of teams and organisations to meet the increasing demands of delivering transformational change, in a way that is scalable, repeatable, timely, cost effective and sustainable. Key features of our Growth Culture approach:
|
North Adelaide Local Health Network (on behalf of Northgate House Older Mental Health Services) was an example of where Uncharted partnered with SA Health to develop a pilot learning program to experimentally explore an innovative approach to health service learning and culture change.

As Trusted Advisors we see ourselves as an extension of your team, always working in your organisation’s best interest to build internal capability, not long-term dependency.
As Trusted Advisor we provide: Advice - On leadership/culture development including design, interconnection, structure, methodology and internal embedding and sustainability. We draw upon what we have learned but recognise that every organisation and context is unique and that no two development projects are the same. Growth - Support those involved in the project at all levels to grow their own knowledge and capabilities. Challenge - Being embedded but external allows us to model respectful challenge and candour in a safe but beneficial way. |
"Our team had been tasked with developing, implementing and embedding a new service model that required significant stakeholder engagement and change management. We thought we knew what our problem was and we were looking for Uncharted to help us to think through how to implement it. After an initial meeting with Andrew Stevens we quickly realised we had jumped to a solution before really thinking the problem through. Andrew was able to provide us with the guidance, structure and tools to work as a team to build a shared understanding, work through our stakeholder mapping and engagement planning. The tools included ‘safe to fail experiments’ which provided specific data to inform next steps and determine priority decisions. Andrew facilitated the development of new skills and strategies within our team to work through a complex problem."

The following principles are core considerations for a successful Trusted Advisory partnership:
• Rank does not have its usual privileges (everyone is accountable)
• Everyone builds the culture all the time
• It is an iterative process; we continuously refine and improve (so it can feel messy)
• Learning is an important outcome
• Sustainably developing people and culture takes time and commitment; it’s hard work
• Leadership is critical
• Belief that everyone can grow
